DAMILOLA KOLADE, MD

Dr. Damilola Kolade is an orthopedic surgeon with advanced fellowship training in sports medicine and shoulder surgery from Stanford University. During his fellowship, Dr. Kolade served as a staff doctor for the Stanford University football, basketball, and baseball teams, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Oakland A’s, providing elite-level care to collegiate and professional athletes. He completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Howard University Hospital in Washington, D.C., where he developed a strong foundation in treating complex musculoskeletal conditions.

Dr. Kolade earned his medical degree from New York Medical College and his undergraduate degree in Public Health Studies from The Johns Hopkins University, where he also pursued minors in Business Administration and Economics. His academic excellence has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Eastern Orthopedic Association Traveling Grant Award and a full-tuition scholarship during medical school.

As an accomplished researcher, Dr. Kolade has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications focusing on shoulder arthroplasty, pain management, and orthopedic patient outcomes. His work has been presented at national conferences, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and the Eastern Orthopaedic Association. He has contributed to advancing early discharge protocols for joint replacement surgery and researching misinformation in orthopedic care on social media platforms.

Dr. Kolade is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the J. Robert Gladden Orthopaedic Society, and the Eastern Orthopaedic Association. His leadership experience includes serving as President of the Student National Medical Association and Community Health Chair for the American Medical Students Association, where he created nutrition and exercise education programs for elementary school children.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Kolade enjoys staying active through basketball, lacrosse, golf, running, and weight lifting. He is an avid cook who loves testing new recipes in the kitchen, and he enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and traveling to experience different cultures. Dr. Kolade values spending quality time with friends and family and has a deep appreciation for diverse music genres.
